The Christmas Pony

A few days ago these people near me caught a wild welsh pony that was eating all their hay. They were professionals so they knew how to catch a horse. I happened to be riding past when they caught it. She is a beautiful white and right beside her was her foal! The foal is a light bay filly with an upside-down triangle on her forehead. The mother was being very protective over the foal. I tied Beauty (my horse) up and went over. Then the mother reared up. I then said, "Do you need any help?" And then their son said "Kinda," So I got back on Beauty and we got back quickly.

My dad came with me to help with the horse, and then we ran back to their property. They had their horse trailer there and they were trying to get they mother and foal into it to take it to the vet's. We were trying to keep the horse as calm as possible but she was very wild. She reared again and then she calmed down a bit when they put hay in the trailer! She then ran into the trailer her foal close behind her.

When we came back from the vets' the vet said they were fine and just needed a cool drink and a nice sleep. When we were taking the horse into the barn they said,"You helped us, so you get to name the foal."
"What?!" I said
"We already decided that we are going to call the mare Cindy"

When I was in bed that night I wondered what I was going to call the foal. A thousand names went through my head.

The next day I rode over to their house. I saw them petting Cindy and her foal. When I went over they said that Cindy already knew some basic training and is a lot calmer now. They guessed that Cindy escaped or was released when she was pretty young. Cindy galloped over to where Beauty was tied up. They sniffed each others faces. And then they licked each other. I giggled.

It is hard to think of names for this foal. Please tell me if you do have any ideas.

I loved meeting Cindy and her foal. I go over to their house everyday. It would be even better if I find the right name.
